The town of Roma and the surrounding district provide the tourist with numerous historical sites, natural wonders, scenic drives, aboriginal art sites, camping facilities, wineries, art and crafts, treks and walks, as well as good old country hospitality.

Roma was the location of the trial of Henry Redford, on whose exploits the great Australian classic "Robbery Under Arms" was based.

"I ascended an elevation north east extremity of Mount Abundance and from it beheld the finest country I have ever seen in a primeval state - a champagne region, spotted with wood, stretching as far as human vision or even telescope could reach...." Major Mitchell, expedition of discovery, 1846.
